I am a Tibetan born and brought up in India. As a Tibetan born in traumatic times of exile and having to live scattered lives in India, I naturally feel a strong sense of responsibility towards the ongoing freedom struggle. To fight this injustice through non-violence is what I have committed my life to.
China has its own share of problems economics, environment, social justice, press freedom, and I know many young Chinese who are patriotically taking up this responsibility. But just as they want more freedom like the free press, right to religion etc I expect them to understand our desire for freedom too. This includes the freedom for the people in Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia.
my parents were road construction labourers when I was born. So I don't have a date of birth recorded, but I can't be younger than 34.
I am buddhist, but I am not hugely religious. I do not like rituals; infact, sometimes I feel many people are resorting to rituals to solve problems rather than working it out on their own. I believe Buddhism gives no easy godly solutions.
I wish Tibetans and the Chinese could live together peacefully as neighbours, respecting each other's unique culture and nationality.
I have a huge respect to the traditional Chinese culture; their medicine, poetry, performing traditions, science and mathematics, martial arts and others.
I love reading. Cinema and theater are my first love.
I studied literature and philosophy in the university. I live out of writing. You can read some of my poetry and essays on my hi5 journal.
Through hi5 i can get to communicate to those who otherwise wouldn't have been on my radar.
